New permanent-magnet motor from Celeroton

The Celeroton CM series is being expanded with a new permanent-magnet motor, CM-25-280, which provides power up to 1,000 W at 280,000 rpm.

CM-25-280For increased power and more torque, the Celeroton CM product family of permanent-magnet synchronous motors is being extended. Augmenting the CM-2-500, the new motor CM-25-280 with a rated power of 1,000 W is now available.

As its little brother, the CM-2-500, the new CM-25-280 is especially suited for applications requiring ultra-high speeds because of its mechanical design, and the minimization of high-frequency losses. Compared to the CM-2-500, the new motor provides higher torque up to 34 mNm.

Due to the larger shaft diameter, the motor is particularly suited for the flange-mounting of prisms and chopper disks for applications in laser optics. The mounting of a rotating mirror onto the shaft of the motor enables operation at high speeds, and thus increasing the frame rate in high-speed cameras. Further application areas of the new motor can be found in test benches as a driving motor or a generator in a breaking operation.

The motor can be perfectly controlled with the Celeroton converters CC-100-1000 or CC-230-1500.
