Anwendungen mit hohen Drehzahlen verlangen herausragende Lagerlösungen. Neben Kugellagern setzt man vermehrt Gas- und Magnetlager ein. Vor allem bei Betrieb im Vakuum bieten Magnetlager grosse Vorteile. Ein neues Konzept für Drehzahlen von über 500 000 min–1 dient nun als Basis für optische Systeme und Drallräder für Satelliten.
