Rotor dynamic calculations must be performed to guarantee safe operation of the rotor. Rotor dynamics are directly related to the motor and gas bearing design, as the size of the motor’s magnet has a direct influence on rotor dynamics performance, and deformations due to bending modes and eigenmodes must be taken into account in the bearing design.
