Rotor dynamic calculations must be performed to guarantee safe operation of the rotor. Rotor dynamics are directly related to the motor and gas bearing design, as the size of the motor’s magnet has a direct influence on rotor dynamics performance, and deformations due to bending modes and eigenmodes must be taken into account in the bearing design. Celeroton uses its own design software for the rotor dynamic design, which is integrated in the gas bearing design software. The rotor dynamic design is also strongly linked to the manufacturing and balancing of the rotor. Celeroton combines the know-how in rotor dynamic design, the balancing and the validation of rotor dynamics via sensors under one roof.
