Thermal design

Hot, hotter, hottest: the higher the compactness and power density, the bigger the challenge in thermal design.

Due to high electric motor speeds, Celeroton creates turbo compressors that are significantly smaller than other types of compressor. With many benefits for the user. But the more compact the system, or in other words the higher the power density, the greater the losses per volume and thus the greater the challenges in thermal management and cooling. The latter is carried out either passively or actively as forced air cooling or liquid cooling. The thermal management not only has to take into account absolute temperature limits of materials, but also temperature differences and thus different expansions between components.
