Cooling of a pixel tracker using gaseous helium

Cooling pixel detectors in experimental particle physics with helium requires the oil-free recirculation of the rare gas. The concept presented in the paper «Successful cooling of a pixel tracker using gaseous helium» is not limited to pixel detector applications and can be used to cool any surface with respective heat-densities, only limited by shaping the helium gas flow with the turbo compressor CT-1050-He.
