Product Launch: Gas-Bearing Turbo Compressors for H₂ and O₂ Applications

Celeroton introduces the CT-1011-H2 and CT-1011-O₂, two gas-bearing high-speed turbo compressors designed for demanding process-gas applications. Based on a shared design platform, both systems combine compact dimensions, high power density, and fully oil-free operation.

A newly developed housing design allows for operation with wet gas mixtures. Together with aerodynamic and electromagnetic optimization, the compressors set new benchmarks in efficiency and ease of integration.

Common technological features

CT-1011-H₂ – Turbo compressor for hydrogen-containing process gases

The CT-1011-H2 is a highly compact, electrically driven radial turbo compressor for the circulation and compression of gas mixtures containing (moist) hydrogen. It was specially developed for applications requiring high purity, low leakage, and efficient handling of hydrogen.

With a maximum rotational speed of 180,000 rpm, the turbo compressor achieves a mass flow of up to 16 g/s at a pressure ratio of 1.15. The overall efficiency reaches up to 65 %. Dimensions of 182 × 277 × 175.2 mm and a weight of 8 kg enable space-saving integration into compact system designs.

CT-1011-O₂ – Turbo compressor for oxygen-containing process gases

The CT-1011-O₂ is designed for the safe circulation and compression of oxygen-containing gas mixtures. Its design is based on the same platform as the H2 turbo compressor but is specifically adapted in detail to meet the particular requirements of O₂ applications.

The turbo compressor operates at a maximum speed of 180,000 rpm, achieves a mass flow of up to 22 g/s at a pressure ratio of 1.26, and delivers an overall efficiency of up to 55 %. With dimensions of 182 × 277 × 175.2 mm and a weight of 8 kg, this model also offers very high power density with minimal installation space.

Proven reliability

Both turbo compressors have been extensively tested and validated. The test results confirm efficient and gas-tight operation even under fluctuating loads and demanding process conditions.

To ensure the highest quality standards, each turbo compressor is tested on specially developed in-house test benches. This validation process guarantees high operational safety and long-term reliability in industrial applications.
